UP Paint : The new house needs colors. When the walls are faded for the old house, we put new colors for the house. In this sequence, the color remains wasted. It is estimated that 10 percent of paints are wasted in America every year. As a result, the surroundings are getting polluted.
Recycle of Paint : Dustin Martin, Up Paint’s founder, is a veteran of the paint industry and says over the past decade, there’s been a growing awareness about the problem of unused paint. Household paint comes in two varieties—latex and oil-based—both of which contain lots of toxic chemicals. If you simply toss old cans in the trash, it sends hazardous waste into landfills, contaminating the groundwater. To avoid this problem, UP Paint has come up with an innovation in collaboration with a non-profit organization called Paint Care.
As part of their plan, this organization has set up a system in 10 US states with designated locations for surrendering unused points. The UP organization will collect the points assigned to them, purify them and make them available for reuse. It is remarkable that 90 percent of the unused points are reused. So far this company has made 18 different colors available. More colors will be available in 2023.
