Plastic : Blue Roads! Water Proof… Heat Proof

Plastic: Blue roads! People flocking to see! Water proof.. Heat proof! Do you know somewhere?
Plastic Roads: This road was made by mixing plastic with pitch which pollutes the environment.
One of the most serious environmental challenges facing the world is plastic pollution. According to United Nations estimates, we produce more than 300 million tons of plastic waste every year. Only 9 percent of this waste is recycled.
Everything else is dumped into the natural environment. That means agricultural lands, rivers, If this situation continues, researchers predict that our oceans will contain more plastic than marine life by 2050.
Blue Roads : The concept of plastic roads has come to the force to reuse plastic. Plastic roads are already seen in many places including AP. At the same time, a town in Bengal made a blue road by mixing discarded plastic with pitch.
The road was constructed by Uchalan Gram Panchayat of Raina in East Bardhaman, West Bengal. Experts say this road will be durable. This blue road adds to the beauty of the area.
Many people are thronging to see this road. They expressed hope that this type of road construction will be done in more places with the encouragement of the Panchayat.
Even if there is too much water, if there is heavy rain, if the sun rises, the road will be damaged. This situation is more common in Arab countries. That is why the roads are coated with plastic blue.
The same technology is being used in Bardhaman too. This prevents direct sunlight from melting the road. This road is water proof as well as heat proof.
This blue road is constructed in Ekalakshmi area of Uchalan area in Raina 2 block of East Bardhaman. From Ekalakshmi Toll Plaza to Rauthara Bridge we see a 320 meter blue road with plastic wrap. This road was built at a cost of around 22 lakh 94 thousand rupees. The funds of the State Finance Committee are 15 lakh rupees, while the Panchayat’s own funds are 8 lakh rupees.
