Immortality | Life without death is possible in another seven years.
Is immortality possible for man? This question has puzzled many scientists for hundreds of years. Scientifically, no one could say that immortality is possible for man. Recently, it is said that an engineer Ray Kurzweil said that human being will get immortality soon. Ray Kurzweil, a 75-year-old former Google engineer, strongly argues that by 2030, life without death will be possible. He made 147 predictions out of which 86 percent were true, and now the claim of immortality has gained immense importance.
Immortality : In a video posted on his YouTube channel Adagio, Ray revealed that with the latest technologies such as genetics, nanotechnology, robotics etc., immortality will be possible for man in another seven years. He predicted that nanotechnology and robotics will develop age-reversing nanobots, which will restore cells and tissues that are damaged in the body with increasing age and provide immunity.
He says that immortality will be possible for man due to these nanobots which prevent aging. The former Google engineer claims that microscopic robots will fend off aging and illness and repair our bodies on a cellular level, ultimately leading to everlasting life.
Kurzweil predictions in the past proved to be true : Kurzweil, who calls himself a futurist, has made many similar predictions in the past that have come true. He predicted in 1990 that a computer would beat the world’s best chess player by the year 2000, and it came true in 1997. Kurzweil predicted in 1999 that by 2023, a $1,000 laptop would be as powerful as a human brain.
It was said many years ago that by 2010, high bandwidth wireless internet will be available all over the world. As most of Kurzweil’s predictions regarding technology came true, his words gained importance and credibility. Now everyone’s attention is focused on his prediction that man will not die.
Humans will merge with AI : Kurzweil also believes that by 2045, humans will merge with the artificial intelligence we have created, multiplying our effective intelligence by a billion-fold. This phenomenon is called ‘The Singularity’. He is confident that AI will achieve human levels of intelligence by passing a valid Turing test by 2029.
