Ayurvedic doctor, Dr. Rekha Radhamoni explained the benefits of drinking rain water in an Instagram post. She explained that Ayurveda recommends drinking rainwater, also referred to as ‘Antareeksha Jalam’. Also shared some important things to keep in mind while using rain water.
These are the precautions to be taken : Choosing the right time to collect rainwater is essential. The rainwater that falls after a few days of the onset of monsoon should be collected. That rain water is considered suitable for drinking. It is better to use copper vessels for collection. Copper has the property of improving water quality. In the process of drinking rain water, water should be collected after an hour of rain. Then leave the water overnight in the moonlight. If necessary the bowl can be covered with a thin cotton cloth. Boil the water and drink it the next day.
Do not drink in polluted areas. : Dr. Rekha explained that in Ayurveda, rain water is like nectar. It rejuvenates the body and provides comfort. Relieves fatigue. But those who live in areas with high air pollution should not drink rainwater. The reason for this is that the purity of the rain water has been damaged due to the pollution levels. Also this method is not suitable in areas where rainfall is very low.
